Church: Cruel and Unusual Punishment

A criminal was recently sentenced to church as punishment for his crimes:

With a lengthy and violent criminal record to his name, Pachino Hill is going to church.

Hill, 29, of Davenport was sentenced Wednesday by Scott County Associate Judge Christine Dalton to a counseling program offered by Third Missionary Baptist Church. She also ordered him to attend church there eight consecutive Sundays, to pay a fine and be on probation for one year.

To me this looks like cruel and unusual punishment. Not only that, but I imagine its a bit counterproductive to order a criminal to worship, for eight consecutive Sundays, the self-professed highest-scoring murderer ever: the Christian God.

If I were in this guy's position, I would have requested to attend worship services provided by the Church of Satan, just to expose the silliness of the order, and to piss off judge Dalton of course. Failing that, I would try to attend some atheist church service or even a Universal Life Church service.

But hey, I'm an atheist, which means I'm far less likely to be facing prison time than a theist is anyway.

Why is it that so many sitting judges are complete whackjobs? My mother's long-term lawyer was the most scatterbrained and incompetent person I ever met that passed the bar. Of course she became a judge.

This website is ridiculous and offensive for religious people (i'm note one of these, but i believe in afterlife, because there are a lot of proof). Inhuman and immoral ? Where are the "inhuman" and "immoral" things in the matter of afterlife ?

Maybe you should visit this website.

Francesco,

on that website, not 1 fucking argument is based on logic, not surprising considering its a dumbfuck lawyer trying to provide a "case" for the afterlife.

The day I believe in purple fairies floating around my fucking head is the day I'll consider "out of body" experiences and paranormal bullshit as "evidence." It's people like you in society who are dumbing America the fuck down.

Take a few philosophy classes ESPECIALLY one in logic and then come back and tell me that bullshit would even get past a fucking nine year old.

If you think that the lawyer has a good case for the afterlife you are one bullshit salvation story away from becoming a fucking Branch Davidian.

What do free-thinkers have? The ability to think for themselves. The ability to use LOGIC which is kind of important, you know, cause otherwise you get your beliefs from other douchebag people, not yourself.

But if your so narrow-minded that you can't comprehend why that website is not logical, then I'm glad these people are feeding you bullshit and your choking it down like an animal. you don't deserve a liberated existence. You will die having lived for NOTHING. And there's nothing that sucks more than that, so your personal god be with you then, thats all I can say.
