Kill The Filler: Winter Solstice Greeting

This week has been insanely busy for me, as it no doubt has been with many of my blog readers. Christmas is coming. Or Winter Solstice. Or whatever you call it. And I, along with hundreds of millions of other Americans, been busy shopping for presents.

On top of that, I’m taking a road trip to visit relatives this weekend. So don't expect any more posts from me until next week, after December 25th. And I apologize for this post being 99% filler.

I would like to close off this post with a little materialistic heartwarming. When you are celebrating the holidays this year, remember that the important things in life, love, family, friends, sincere communication, eggnog, etc... are all purely materialistic things that exist within and between material entities in a material universe.

If you want to celebrate the holidays, celebrate the joy of life and existence in this crazy crazy cosmos. To celebrate another dimension of immaterial spirits chained to an infinite and static existence only serves to cheapen and devalue the existence we are in right now. The only -and most important- existence is this one right here and right now. So celebrate it accordingly. Ooooooh, Heaven is a place on Earth.

Merry Christmas!

Observe this: http://www.kinneys-views.blogspot.com/

The contributor to this blog, ironically, has the same first and last name as YOU! Furthermore, he has a post on Christmas, filled with ignorance and arrogance!

Thanx Dylon,

Actually, Ive already come across him. Yes its strange that I have a same-named counterpart who blogs with a Christian tint. Maybe Ill do a blog post on him someday. Hmmm...

In Vino Veritas!

Aaron Christian Kinney is definitely the evil one! Trust me, when you have been reading essays and subjective rantings by this guy, you begin to think: "How much of a fanatic is he?" He uses subjective rhetoric in all his posts, pridful asserts his beliefs are dogmatic, and bashes people in hatful manner.

Perhaps our Aaron should write a little review of the Christian Aaron's writings. That should be interesting !

Re. The Libertarian Defender.

Aaron, I'm assuming that you did not get a response to your e-mail or you would have enlightened the rest of us, assuming that TLD is unable to respond for himself. I'm going to post this on your blog too. Please pardon the off-topic nature, but this is more worrysome the longer it continues.

PS

1. "In Vino Veritas" - In wine there is truth.

2. I wonder if the Christian Aaron Kinney looks just like you except he has a goatee?

Aaron Kinney said...

Naw, the Christian Aaron Kinney is ugly and doesnt get any chicks. ;)

And TLD is MIA. I ended up deciding not to send an email because I am assuming that his dissapearance from the blogosphere was deliberate. But was it...????

'Kill the afterlife'?!?! Can't be done, so perhaps you should just get used to it. As long as death remains a one-way trip there will always be those who will believe that it is just the start of a fantastic journey.
Flexibility, tolerance and open-mindedness are characteristics that are sorely lacking on both sides in this endless debate about the pro's and con's of the afterlife. Would it be too much to ask of the visitors to this site to acknowledge that opinions are not facts, and with this the acknowledgement that no-one really knows what happens after the cessation of physical processes that cannot account for the existence of objective individual identities???? (I can just see the response to this now - something along the lines of 'What the @#$@% would you know, you pathetic afterlifer' - so sad).

Actually, anonymous, the rationale goes something like this: since we DON'T know, we should make the most of THIS life. That way, we don't waste time. We only know for sure that we have one life. If we get another one, we hit the jackpot. But we're still better off if we made the most of the initial one, No?

Belief in afterlife costs precious time, and therefore destroys life. 'Tolerating' those who promote the afterlife is like tolerating killers. Now repeat after me...
