Aaron Kinney @ the Atheist Hour

This coming Sunday, September 18th, at 6:00pm Pacific Standard Time, I will be making a guest appearance on Pastor Gene Cook’s show The Atheist Hour at Unchained Radio. I think you have to register at the site to be able to listen to the show live, and don’t put registration off to the last minute. I attempted to register but haven’t received the confirmation email yet. So if anyone has any problems listening to the show on Sunday, post a comment here and I will give you a link you can download it from.

Derek Sansone’s appearance last week was interesting. I was unable to activate my registration and listen to the show live, so I had to have a friend provide me with a copy of the show. Derek is a moral relativist (something that I’m not) and I think the Christians enjoyed attacking him on that issue, themselves being oblivious to the fact that they are also moral relativists!

Hopefully I will get a chance to plug the Hellbound Allee show and my two blogs, as well as adequately defend and explain my materialist/objective morality/atheist worldview.

I'll lay a bet that the term "Hellbound alleee" raises Gene's eyebrows. "She thinks she's hellbound! I have to point that out!"

What? Someone else set up a baby-sacrifice crime ring? No wonder business has been slow lately.

I've got to say something, AK -- are you purposely trying to make yourself ubiqitous? Cuz, everywhere I go on the freethinking web, Bam!-- there's AK already. :P

LOL thanx tanooki joe.

I guess I just spend too much time surfing the freethinking web. When Im not sacrificing babies, that is.

Hail Satan!

Wow everyone seems to notice. I guess its time to tell you the truth: I am the omnipresent God that we all argue against.

J/K! Actually, its just that I spend lots of time in front of computers and happen to be able to surf the net alot. All my job responsibilities involve computer use, Im studying at college for a computer degree, and of course I have a computer at home. If Im not working on my car or partying with friends or sleeping, then Im in front of a computer. Gotta love the digital age.

From what I heard of the show with Derek, it's going to be pretty eye-rolling. I really don't see the point of participating to this show, but it should give Aaron some experience. Blech.

Aaron: "Ill admit to him that we are secretly Satan worshippers that run a baby-sacrifice crime ring."

Yahweh (if there were one) and Moses (if he were still alive) would be very proud. No, make that jealous.

Yes Franc, it was eye-rolling. But it was because Derek is a moral relativist. I am going to take a different approach. I also want to bring up a bunch of moral arguments and such.

This is my first appearance on a Christian radio show, so I think youre right: primarily it will be a learning experience for me.

Moses is just as fictional as YHWH. Matter of fact, there's a huge chunk of time in which he and pretty much everything he "wrote" about (Pentateuch) aren't mentioned, until suddenly, a "prophet" "finds" a book of Israel's histroy and laws (again, the Pentateuch). I'll really have to go back and research that, because I don't like to put shit out there and not back it up.

AK:
So, we're both atheists named Aaron who go to college to pursue careers in the computer field. Now if we could both be ubiquitous. Actually, I'll leave that last part to people like you, Alleee, and Yam.

I will need to get to a broadband connection to download this.

dub, for the record, I'm convinced that the Moses we read about in the Old Testament is a legendary figure. There's no question in my mind that this individual "wrote" the books that finally made their way into the Pentateuch. And if he did, then he surely cannot be claimed to be an eyewitness to many of the things that are recorded in those books. At any rate, it's all legend grown wide in mythology. That an adult mind can suckle itself on the idea that it's all true is really quite amazing.

Now Aaron, let me tell you, you are ubiquitous! I'll be honest, I thought all this talk of your ubiquity was overstatement. But now I'm coming around. The other day I was coming out of a meeting at work, and the guy who delivers the mail throughout our building told me that he put something in my office that he had downloaded from the internet. Occasionally we swap atheist stories, usually humorous ones. So we have a commonality here. Well, when I finally got back to my office and looked in the interoffice envelope, there was an essay by our one and only Aaron Kinney! It was a printout of an article Aaron wrote for Salon.com called "The noodly savior." I had not seen this article before, so when I got to the bottom of the page and saw the name Aaron Kinney, I grinned as wide as the parted Red Sea!

You're making your rounds, Aaron! Keep it up!

LOL hey BB!

You are the second person who has mentioned me in regards to Salon.com.

For the record, that Aaron Kinney is not me. I do not write for Salon.com and this guy has my name. Ive been approached about that before. LOL but thanx!

Is that right? You know, the article had to do with the Flying Spaghetti Monster... How's that for coincidences?
