It would lead to quite a different (and better) layout, I imagine.

Just TRY to get your ass to work efficiently when having to traverse pentagram shaped roads.Aaron Kinneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12059982934663353474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11975474.post-35707496205738241102007-07-11T10:43:00.000-07:002007-07-11T10:43:00.000-07:00I spent a brief amount of time researching archite...I spent a brief amount of time researching architecture and design in DC while visiting. During one of the tours it was pointed out to us that the streets were designed to confuse the enemy and diffuse the attack of an advancing army, if the city were invaded.

Not sure how that ties into the apparent shape, but it did a good enough job confusing us visitors. @.@Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11975474.post-17363851595539714902007-07-08T23:16:00.000-07:002007-07-08T23:16:00.000-07:00Mikayla and James,Correct. Apparently its distorted in part to also make a star of david, but the lines in the pentagram, for the most part, stand out more.

Apparently this design was done at the request of George Washington. It was designed by the Freemasons, and back in the 1800s, the pentagram wasnt associated with satanism. The baphomet/pentagram that we associate satanism with today wasnt used until LaVey came into the picture.

So this is some kind of Freemason code thingy, and not an homage to the evil one.

But regardless, its a sign of occultism and mysticism, and shows just how far back and how deep our government has been influenced by religion.Aaron Kinneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12059982934663353474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11975474.post-61017420873176160872007-07-08T04:07:00.000-07:002007-07-08T04:07:00.000-07:00I can almost see what you mean, but I think the st...I can almost see what you mean, but I think the streets from the white house that extend to the N38deg54'9" parallel are what throws it off. Also, the horizontal street isn't nearly as prominent in the map.

There is a segment missing, however, on the left-hand side. Other than that, it's well-formed enough. I'm not sure why the guy who designed DC bothered to put a Pentagram into the street layout, but I'm sure that somebody out there has some theories...James Pyrichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10284056020717016427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11975474.post-67430364525715183782007-07-07T14:36:00.000-07:002007-07-07T14:36:00.000-07:00Interesting--I first saw that on youtube video. I can't help pointing out that if that is supposed to be a pentagram, it's a really ill-formed one.Mikayla Starstuffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12511426810563234113noreply@blogger.com
